{Real Wedding} $3K Eco-chic wedding

I'm extremely excited to post today's wedding. On Tuesday, we posted a Q&A with Lane' Bigsby, of Something Borrowed {Portland}, a place where Portland brides and grooms can borrow wedding decor and details for free. Today, we're sharing her budget-minded, DIY and eco-friendly Portland wedding!

Lane' and Jeff got married at Hoyt Arboretum, a park in Portland. And they did the whole thing for around $3,000 with 100 guests! Wow!

♥ {DIYs} Coffee Filter Garland | Pinwheels | Jam Favors | Wedding Pies

From the bride (via the Something Borrowed blog):
The coffee filter garland was individually hand dyed, a process I don’t know I’d do again (at least in quantities of 600!).  I laugh because at the time of making the coffee filter garland, our kitchen looked like a sweatshop with all the coffee filters hanging by string to dry.

♥ {Saves} Venue | Decor | Food | Music
From the bride (via Something Borrowed blog):
I lost a LOT of nights sleep trying to figure out what to do about the food and catering.  Because we had such a limited budget, something had to go.  Potlucks are no stranger to either of our families and I really love the sense of togetherness they bring.  So, after much deliberation, it was decided.
♥ {Splurges} Band
From the bride (via Something Borrowed blog):
Our one splurge since we opted for a potluck wedding was this phenomenal three-piece stand up band, Boy and Bean.  All other music after the ceremony and during dinner was played via my laptop (iTunes rocks!), with playlists making it SUPER easy to switch between music as needed.  A friend helped with the limited DJ’ing we had (and provided all the sound equipment).

    1. Hi Tara! They had a table covered in kraft paper and the crayons set out for kids so that the little ones could color. :)
