Vendors: Good, bad, ugly

I want to talk about vendors today. I want to talk about the fact that although some of them are outright awful/mean/rude/unnecessary, there are also so many amazing ones out there.

For our re-launch, which I hope to happen in October, but which will definitely happen by January, I decided to make it a little tougher for vendors to make the Wed4Less directory. This will make me a lot more organized (yay! paper trail), and will ensure that all of the vendors whom we endorse are quality, budget-friendly, professional, and super amazing.

The process for inclusion will involve an application, references, and a portfolio review.

I received a really rude email from a vendor today. I won’t get into it too much. Let’s just say that some vendors don’t like this blog. But then I received two vendor applications from a couple really awesome vendors who really care about brides and grooms on a budget.

One of them said, “Don’t feel like you can’t plan a successful, fun and unique wedding on a budget.  There are so many vendors willing to help and work with you.”

That’s the best piece of advice I’ve heard all week.
