Nikki and Ben pulled off their wedding in Bellingham, Wash. for around $6500. Even better, right?
♥ {Saves} venue | decor | flowers | food
From the bride:
♥ {Splurges} DJObviously the biggest savings was the venue as it’s Ben’s father’s house which the recently finished restoring and is now an amazingly beautiful lakeside B&B. Next, I did all the decorating, flowers and cooked the meal.
From the bride:
We didn’t actually hire anyone for anything except the DJ, who actually ended up being a splurge when one of Ben’s friends who has a band and had planned to DJ as our wedding gift (as in free) was unable to make it with only a few days warning.
♥ {DIYs} Invitations | Decor | Lawn Games | Chalkboards | Food | Florals | Jam Favors
From the bride:
I LOVE to cook. It is also one of my passions. My love language even. When you come to my home I cook for you. So what better way to make my guests feel a part of our day than to prepare the meal myself.
From the bride:
The day before the wedding my mother in law to be, my new stepmother, my sister and my nephew (who I got to meet for the first time since they came from Florida for the wedding) and my best friend Jama and I went to pick Dahlias together as a relaxing afternoon.
My sister sent all the sunflowers from her garden and my uncle sent me a mass of peacock feathers he collected on his farm. So the floral arrangements and bouquets were done by us as well.
And lastly, a special memory from the bride:
My son Logan, who is 5, and Ben’s son Tristan walked me down the aisle. We looked at our wedding not as children becoming adults who needed parents to give us away but as two families uniting into one. The boys were amazing.

I love this wedding! I feel like it is the general feel that we are going for, but I am not quite sure how to capture that in our wedding. I will figure it out. I am excited to be back in the game! I have been away for too long! Hope you are doing well, Lindsie!
