{Advice} I need your help

Hey guys, I need your help.

I bought my dress a while back at Marcella's Bridal in Spokane (highly recommended), but I now have no idea what to wear in my hair!

I know I don't like the traditional veil. But other than that, I really have no clue.

So, here's a picture of me in my dress, except I'm changing up the sash to a white one. (Don't worry, my fiance's already seen this.)

I'm not so hot on the super poof of the veil that I'm wearing in that photo, and I will be wearing my hair in a similar way (just some light waves).

Here's a photo of my beloved shoes!

And a few photos of bouquet inspiration!

Anyway, let's think of this like a contest. A budget bridal hairpiece contest! Comment below with a link to a fabulous hairpiece for under $30 that you think would look great with my overall wedding look, and I'll choose my favorite one.

The winner will get a free copy of my FAVORITE wedding book, Handmade Weddings (or a different book of my choosing if you already happen to have this one)! Sound like a deal?! :)

So comment below! I'll choose my favorite on Feb. 25 at noon!

  1. Hey Lindsie

I am going to email you a picture. Basically, attach tulle that you would use for a birdcage veil to a headband. The daughter of a friend of mind did that and it worked out perfect. I think it might give you what you are looking for. When your done with the ceremony, detach and go :) She wore her hair down as well.

I think that incorporating the burnt yellow tones in the hair piece, would tie everything together and go great with your shoes and boquet! if you are wanting more of the veil, you could always add this small birdcage veil and connect the flower peice on one of the sides. and then take the bird cage off after the ceremony!

  3. My first thought was similar to Stephanie. I have had a few brides do the small veil like the one she has linked & then they took a couple pieces (brooch, jewelry, etc..)that were special to them, added a flower or small feathers, & created their own unique hair piece.

This is a nice big flower. I really like it and it can be done as a sash or a headpiece.

This one is yellow and I feel like it would go very well with your shoes and bouquet. I would add some fabric underneath to make it bigger.

I really like this veil too. It can sit above your eyes, which I would find important. It would give me a headache looking through the veil all night. It's also non poofy! Yay! It comes with some little feathers attached and I think it would compliment your look well. Good luck finding something!!

  6. This Bandeau style looks great with longer, wavy hair and it's only $16. The seller has great feedback on etsy as well.

    1. Yes, indeed! It appears that with the photoshoot we did that weekend, I totally forgot to announce a winner! I'll do that tomorrow when I post that very shoot. :)
