{Advice & Inspiration} Save on food

Food can easily be one of the most expensive aspects of your wedding. Catering menus often run $25 per person, and are sometimes even higher. If you're having 100 people at your wedding, this ends up at $2500, which is a huge chunk if you're on a budget.

Here's a list I compiled of some fun ideas for cutting your food costs!

THE DESSERT BUFFET

A dessert buffet is a great way to stay chic and also save money, since desserts cost much less than full meals--often $5 per person or less. Desserts also have the added benefit of looking amazing! :)

THE PICNIC MEAL

Offering picnic boxes is another super cute way to save funds! These boxes can be DIY-ed in advance for next-to-nothing--think a sandwich and a couple sides--or can be purchased pre-made from many delis. I've seen them for around $8 each! And many delis will deliver and set them up just like a regular caterer.

THE _______ BAR

Food bars are really fun, and can be relatively simple (and inexpensive) to put together. Like these two ideas--the pancake bar in the top photo and the bread bar in the bottom one. Prices will depend on the type of bar, but this type of reception really puts you in control.

These are my favorite ideas. What other budget-friendly food options do you know?
